In the early 1950's, the threat of Communism created an air of paranoia in the United States and exploiting those fears was Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin. However, CBS reporter Edward R. Murrow and his producer Fred W. Friendly decided to take a stand and challenge McCarthy and expose him for the fear monger he was. However, their actions took a great personal toll on both men, but they stood by their convictions and helped to bring down one of the most controversial senators in American history

George Clooney

Born 1961, Lexington, Kentucky, USA.
The son of broadcast journalist Nick Clooney and the nephew of famed singer Rosemary Clooney. He made his first television appearance at age five, on his father's talk show, The Nick Clooney Show. He started out in television commercials and then signed with Warner Bros. Though he essentially remained unknown throughout the 1980s and early '90s, Clooney had a steady career as a supporting actor. When the 1990s medical drama E.R. became a smash hit, Clooney became particularly popular. He was awarded a 2000 Golden Globe for his portrayal of an escaped convict in the Coen brothers' throwback comedy O Brother Where Art Thou? It was around this time that Clooney, now an established actor began to branch out as the Executive Producer. Clooney was hungry for more substance in his film-making and he proved it by writing, directing, and acting in the tense drama Good Night, and Good Luck.

Augusto's sister Guilia tries to frustrate the lovers, while another brother, Alessandro, hatches a far-reaching plot to free himself of his mother's demands and other family responsibilities, to give Augusto the wherewithal to leave with Lucia, and, perhaps, to pursue incestuous impulses with his sister.
